Yes, today I had an early ultrasound of the transvaginal variety. Lovely word, transvaginal, isn’t it? It was a bit uncomfortable but I’ll try not to get TMI about it. I already told the hubby more about it than he wanted to hear. But hey, if he’s working during my appointments he’s going to have to hear all the gory details later.
And would you believe I brought Ewan (my 3-year old) to the appointment? I was going to have him go have a play date at a friend’s house, but he was so whiny about it that I ended up keeping him with me instead. He’s good about going to nursery school and good with sitters at our house, but not so happy with being left elsewhere. He did really well, though. He sat in a corner and played with his Thomas train and a coloring book. He’s actually a good age to bring along because he can play alone well but he’s young enough he has little interest in what Mommy’s getting up to across the room. I told him to play while Mommy had a test and he did. Good boy. Then this evening he came down with a fever again so I figured it was just as well he didn’t go play with his friend.
Anywho, I got to hear the lovely whoosh-whoosh of the heartbeat so baby seems to be doing well so far. The ultrasound tech dated the pregnancy at 7 weeks 2 days (and here I thought I was already into week 8).

Lainie, I must have missed the news somewhere along the way, so congratulations!!! I’m very excited for you.
